Junior Courses

The Junior Courses are for young actors aged 11 – 16. All students take part in the diverse classes taught by coaches from the main faculty and are platformed in stage and screen. Auditions are all year round and students are often invited to audition from RAaW scouts who have watched school, community or on-line performances.

Foundation Course

The Foundation Course is for 16 – 19 year olds (depending on experience) and it lays down the foundations for the one and two year courses, studying the same subjects with the same coaches, but at a slower pace. It is an intense actor training course, geared towards the opening of the voice, body, individuality and creativity to ready the actor for the industry. Focusing on film and theatre, actors undergo a rigorous and varied training, with enough time and space for the actor to grow organically.

One and Two Year Courses

The One and Two-Year Courses are for 18 – 25-year olds. The courses are exactly the same in content and subject matter with the same coaches.

Actors who return for a second year receive a more tailored training experience as they have been introduced to The Stevens Technique previously and have built up a more personal relationship with the coaches.

Actors who return for a second year may also be approached for representation through RAaW Management. Completion of two years is recognised by Spotlight, allowing actors access to the prestigious casting platform.

Both courses are an intense actor training course, geared towards the opening of the voice, body, individuality and creativity. Focusing on film and theatre, actors undergo a rigorous and varied training, with enough time and space for the actor to grow organically.

RAaW Screen Course

The RAaW Screen Course is for actors aged 18+. Running from January – April (depending on Easter dates). For three months, actors spend Saturdays working on writing film scripts, and enhancing their screen acting technique and learning The Stevens Technique.

At the end of the course, in April, actors on the RAaW Screen Course and the One & Two Year Courses will film their short films with professional crew on location. Some films may be entered into festivals by RAaW in the months following their release.

Adult Drop-in Workshops

With no commitment required, the drop-in workshops enable actors to get a sense of The Stevens Technique and build upon their skills.

For actors aged 18+, this might appeal to actors who cannot commit to weekly workshops, who are not interested in an end product or who may be interested in auditioning for the Adult One or Two Year course the following year.
